SKEPTA – IGNORANCE IS BLISS

Skepta’s fifth studio album and the follow-up to his May 2016’s ‘Konnichiwa’ is here. ‘Ignorance is Bliss’ features fellow UK rappers J Hus, Lancey Foux, and Nafe Smallz, as well as a selection of Skeppy’s Boy Better Know cohorts.  Originally titled ‘SkLEVEL’ [which Skepta has since dubbed a ‘2018 pattern,’ ‘Ignorance is Bliss’ features singles…

WILEY – DON’T BREAD ME

Last week, Wiley responded to Skepta’s recent diss track ‘Wish You Were Here’ with one entitled ‘Don’t Bread Me,’ which has today landed on streaming services.  This particular incarnation of beef heated up after Skepta featured on Dizzee Rascal’s ‘Money Right,’ to which Wiley objected based on his long-standing beef with Dizzee following a stabbing…

SKEPTA – PURE WATER

Last Halloween Skepta gifted us the ‘Vicious‘ EP.  This year he’s dropped off a new video for May’s standalone single ‘Pure Water‘.  It’s a mostly black-and-white [and occasionally red] clip that sees Skepta, well, cleaning his teeth and taking a bath – but probably not in the same settings you and I might.  Stream below via…

SKEPTA – HYPOCRISY [VIDEO]

After the consistently brilliant visuals from last album ‘Konnichiwa’, you’d have been forgiven for thinking that the artwork for new single ‘Hypocrisy’ was a joke.  Having no shared the decidedly kitsch video, it now starts to make sense.  Directed by himself amd BBBK collaborator Matt Walker, the video features Skepta alongside some retro karaoke-singing dancers…

SKEPTA – HYPOCRISY

Not content with launching his own clothing line, Mains, Skepta releases ‘Hypocrisy’, a track aimed at those who disrespect him online but turn on the charm in person.  The beat doesn’t sound dissimilar to some of those on his Mercury Prize-winning album ‘Konnichiwa‘; perhaps it’s an off-cut from the project.  Stream below via SoundCloud.

SKEPTA – COMING SOON

Skepta’s ‘Konnichiwa‘ has been out in the world barely a few month’s but it seems the Tottenham MC is already working on a new project.  New track ‘Coming Soon’ features ILoveMakkonan and Céon as well as the man himself; and judging by the overall tone it wouldn’t be unreasonable to suggest that whatever is on its…

SKEPTA – KONNICHIWA

Grime fans have been waiting a long time for ‘Konnichiwa’, but the new album from Skepta is finally upon us.  Featuring the singles ‘Ladies Hit Squad‘, ‘Man‘, ‘Shutdown‘ and ‘That’s Not Me‘, the album also packs features from the likes of Stormzy, Pharrell Williams, Wiley, JME and more.  Much is being made of Grime’s newfound status…

SKEPTA – MAN

After revealing the tracklist and cover art to upcoming album ‘Konnichiwa’ [May 6], Skepta releases new track ‘Man’.  “I don’t know why man’s calling me family all of a sudden / My mum don’t know your mum, stop telling man you’re my cousin” – the track is an ode to staying humble in the face of unwanted…

SKEPTA – LADIES HIT SQUAD [FT. D DOUBLE E & A$AP NAST]

Skepta debuted new single on Drake’s Beats 1 OVO Sound Radio show, and how makes good on his promise to release the track’s official video.  The track features bars from fellow Grime legend D Double E, and vocals from A$AP Nast.  The washed-out, syrupy production comes from Skeppy himself, while the 80s Miami visuals come courtesy…

JAMMER – BARS

Boy Better Know’s Jammer releases the factually-titled ‘Bars’.  On the track, Jammer accuses other MCs of hiding behind big hooks.  ‘Bars’ sees Jammer lead by example, spitting for the duration almost uninterrupted.  The Twenty8Hurtz-produced instrumental pairs brilliantly with the dark visual, which centres around an ominously backlit performance from the Grime veteran.  Stream below via YouTube, click here to download from iTunes.
