Euphony is a Black female-led platform based in London, dedicated to all things music. It’s a blog packed full of new music recommendations and pop culture commentary. We caught up with co-founders Kara Allen, Ella Gibson-Weekes & Tia Ferguson.
We picked their brains for 10 new artist projects you should check out…
1. THE LOOSIES PROJECT – LOOSIES VOL. 1
Raw talent put together seamlessly; like a jigsaw puzzle coalesces into a superlative complication. The project features Kin Kai, Suelily, Eklipse & more, stream it here via SoundCloud.
2. EMIL – AMBROSIA
Chiming through, producer emil’s debut self-produced EP ‘Ambrosia’ is the perfect antidote to cure the current climate frenzy with perfectly composed saxophones, vocals and sundry other instruments. Click here to check it out.
3. PRITT – TRANSPARENCY
South London’s Pritt fuses her electric taste in R&B and South Asian roots to create a unique ‘Eastern meets Western R&B’ sound. The EP lives up to its name, with Pritt’s vulnerability and honesty about her insecurities, culture and society’s pressures are inspiring. Click here to listen.
4. DYLAN SINCLAIR – PROVERB
‘Proverb’ takes the listener on a passionate and emotional journey that is almost dream-like. At only 19 years old, Dylan Sinclair’s voice and lyricism is captivating and transcends his years, get stuck in here.
5. EMO STEVE – TUFF 2
Immersed in Hip Hop culture, ‘Tuff 2’ is an eminently pleasing late-night cruise fit project. You may find your niche listening through as Emo Steve dabbles in multiple genres. Be prepared to switch between bouncing your head and unpacking some deep thoughts. You won’t be disappointed, click here to listen.
6. AKAI SOLO – ELEVENTH WIND
If Conscious Rap interflowing with idiosyncratic but brilliantly fused loops is your thing, Akai Solo is for you. Each track stands tall against the other, grasping on the listening ear like sirens; ‘Eleventh Wind’ is one to put on loop. Do that here.
7. DEMAE – LIFE WORKS OUT…USUALLY
Previously one-third of Hawk House, Demae has stepped out on her own. Showing what she is truly capable of on the soothing, Neo-Soul & Jazz infused debut project ‘Life Works Out… Usually.’ Stream here via Spotify.
8. CALEB GILES – MEDITATIONS
Straight in with a sample punched away with a relatable feeling, ‘Mediations’ captures the past with the future, soulful sounds with provocative Hip Hop, and the lows and hopes of a life in New York. Sit back and allow Caleb to take you through his East Coast world here.
9. KALISWAY – SPECIAL K
Producer and singer-songwriter Kalisway introduces us to fresh sounds of funk and hip-hop perfect to uplift your day, complimented by her salient yet smooth voice. Stream it here.
10. SAVANNAH RÉ – OPIA
‘Opia’ is the debut project from rising Toronto R&B star Savannah Ré. Executively produced by Boi-1da, Savannah shows versatility whilst laying it all out on every track. Check it out here.
