Following the release of ‘Feel Away,’ Northampton rapper slowthai, real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton, has released another single and accompanying visual. ‘NHS’ is the second single from his forthcoming self-titled album ‘TYRON’ [February 5, 2021], which is set to feature the likes of Skepta, A$AP Rocky and Dominic Fike.

Written as an ode to the UK’s National Health Service and its staff’s work during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, ‘NHS’ is “a reminder to always appreciate what you have whilst you have it.” Directed by creative duo THE REST, the visual sees the rapper measuring social distancing, queuing up outside a supermarket and standing on top of a pile of loo rolls – all hugely relatable in 2020 – whilst wearing NHS blue.

“What’s love without hate and stuff? / Loyalty without no trust? / Rick without Morty? Lil Wayne without codeine? / A rapper without jewellery? Real person, surely / What’s health without poorly? / What’s wealth without the poor? Please / The world we’re living in, I’m tryna give you reassurance”

In comparison to many of his previous tracks, ‘NHS’ introduces us to softer and more mellow beats. It touches on gratitude and self-reflection, whilst being a reminder of the new ‘normal’. Having discovered a different side of slowthai’s persona, the anticipation for his upcoming album is certainly running high. Stream below via Youtube.
