GHETTS – IC3 [FT. SKEPTA]

“What do you know about Ghetts & Skeppy?” asks the former on new track ‘IC3.’  Well, unless we’re mistaken, what we do know is that these two legends of the Grime scene haven’t been on a track together since the remix to Frisco’s ‘Grime Lord’ back in 2012, and that this is perhaps the most vital UK collab of 2020.

The track’s title references the code police use when referring to black ethnicity, its artwork (Ghetts, a fingerprint, and a handcuff) a reference to racial profiling by British police.  It’s a track that celebrates the success both artists have had in spite of the fact that, as a result of institutionalised racism (particularly within the police), the chips have been stacked against them.
