Save for ‘ENEMY,‘ slowthai’s musical output in 2020 has largely been as a featured artist on tracks with the likes of Gorillaz, Disclosure & Aminé. This time around he’s back with a new track and music video entitled ‘feel away,’ on which he’s joined by James Blake and Mount Kimbie. The trio is a perfect match as slowthai dwells on the fallbacks of a relationship that seems to be destined to fail over muffled and warm piano riffs. “This song is about the doubts we have whether it be within friendships, your partner or with our family,” says slowthai.
The faintly nostalgic-sounding track comes complete with a Oscar Hudson-directed video. Shot through first-person perspective, the narrative begins sweetly enough, but soon takes a left turn. Stream below via YouTube.
