Anderson. Paak’s new album ‘Oxnard’ was mixed and produced by Dr. Dre.  As such, it positively oozes West Coast.  It’s Los Angeles in the late afternoon heat, it’s palm trees on the eponymous Oxnard Beach, and its sound is every bit as in and of the area as any work of Snoop Dogg or N.W.A.  The only difference is that it’s a hell of a lot fresher.  ‘Oxnard’ follows 2015’s ‘Venice’ and 2016’s ‘Malibu‘ as the third in his beach town trilogy, and this time sees him pull in his highest calibre features yet.  Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Pusha T, Q-Tip, J. Cole… the list goes on.  Stream below via SoundCloud.
