With very little warning, Jay Prince drops a new A/B side. First track ‘Love Is’ sees Kojey Radical contribute the perfect counterpoint to the laid-back, celebratory refrain. B side ‘GLAM’ rests around syncopated percussion and a driving bassline, over which we get singing and bars from Prince, as well as some mellow, pitched-up vocals. In a world where the Sminos, Aminés and Anderson .Paaks are beginning to see real commercial success, it feels like Jay Prince is the UK’s hottest export in that lane. That said, international tours and support from Soulection mean that, to some extent, he’s already there.
