‘Relentless and Unforgiving’ may not be the most welcoming EP title you’ve ever come across, but we certainly suggest you forego any associated reservations about hitting play on this new five track offering from New York beatsmith Falside. Opener ‘Yoppa’ is a stark, spacious affair on which long, drifting synths are propelled by harsh percussion and a vocal sample straight from the Dirty South. Things get experimental midway through on ‘Disasters,’ which has to be one of the most minimal approaches to Trap we’ve ever heard, before ending on the lush warmth of closer ‘Painfully Thick.’ Stream below via SoundCloud.
