Nigerian-born poet/rapper/singer Dámì Sule plans to build on the foundation laid by his debut EP ‘Crayons’ with a new project entitled ‘Rough Canvas’, the first taste of which is new track ‘Prayer’. “The song is about a cry for more faith,” says Sule. “Often I feel like we forget that evil exist and innocent people die everyday. I feel it is important that I highlight this area.” Over a beat comprised of delicate synths, Jazz melodies and birdsong, Sule’s delivery is gentle and poised; rarely more than a whisper.
