The first taste of Amun’s debut EP ‘Separate’ came with chic, Beyonce-indebted single ‘So Cold’, but the best introduction by far is her video debut ‘Not Everything‘. The Link Up TV-premiered visual sees the British-Somali Singer/Songwriter glide around her native London set to the crispest Hip Hop beat. Although a little rough around the edges and derivative in places, ‘Separate’ is a confident debut full of promise; ‘Them Things’ and ‘Momma Always Says’ are chock full of hard-won wisdom that belies her twenty two years of age, nicely offset by the menace of ‘So Cold’ and the unbridled prettiness of ‘Not Everything.’ Stream below via SoundCloud.
