XL Recordings boss Richard Russell brings together Giggs, Sampha, Syd, Kamasi Washington, Wiki and so many more on new release ‘Everything Is Recorded’. The project’s first incarnation came in the form of five track EP ‘Close But Not Quite‘, the title track from which is recycled on ‘Everything Is Recorded’. The mixture of styles on display here is dizzying; from the delicate Soul inflections of the aforementioned Sampha stand-out, to the Gospel of ‘Bloodshot Red Eyes’, to ‘She Said’ – which sounds like the lovechild of two tracks by Roots Manuva & Young Fathers.
