Kendrick Lamar teams up with fellow TDE signee SZA on new track ‘All The Stars’. Quite the departure in sounds from his latest album ‘DAMN.‘, ‘All The Stars’ is a pop-tastic, string-filled epic; almost reminiscent of Eminem’s dire pop output circa 2010 [‘Love The Way You Lie’, ‘The Monster’ etc] but far more subdued. The track is the lead single to be taken from the ‘Black Panther’ soundtrack, which is to be produced and curated by Kendrick and Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, and released on January 4, 2018.
In a press release earlier that day, Kendrick announced his involvement with the soundtrack: “Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honoured to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.”
