Dizzee Rascal’s new album ‘Raskit’ is his sixth. Since his seminal 2003 debut ‘Boy In Da Corner’ he’s been on quite the journey; topping the charts with the likes of Calvin Harris, but leaving many fans of his original output cold. ‘Raskit’, however, could certainly be seen as a return to form; lyrically Dizzee feels at the top of his game here; delivering genuine introspection and commentary at typically breakneck speed. Sonically, while the album over-archingly indebted to Grime it certainly borrows from a variety of genres, most notably the West Coast G-Funk of which Dizzee is such a vocal fan.
