Having only recently been released from prison following a false accusation of sexual assault, you’d forgive Freddie Gibbs if his new album wasn’t quite up to scratch. Not the case – Gibbs doesn’t put a foot wrong on ‘You Only Live 2wice’. With no features and only one reference to the aforementioned [on single ‘Crushed Glass‘] the album is very much business as usual; brash lyrical content awash with references to the Indiana rapper’s cocaine-dealing past over stark Trap beats.
