1-800 Dinosaur, the label founded by producer extraordinaire James Blake, present a ten track album showcasing the talents of MC Trim. As one might expect from 1-800 Dinosaur, the beats are harsh, sparse and unforgiving. As for Trim himself; it’s not only his semi-spoken word delivery that’s comparable to Roots Manuva; the fact that he eschews the typical tropes of both Grime and UK Hip Hop make him equally difficult to place.
The resulting combination is a compelling one. This considered approach feels somehow refined; allowing Trim’s bitter indictments of the music industry and Grime scene to land and resonate in full. Stream below via SoundCloud, click here to download from iTunes.
