After recent collaborations with Kanye West, Kaytranada and Towkio, the prospect of an album from Vic Mensa was quite an exciting one. Unfortunately, ‘There’s Alot Going On’ doesn’t quite live up to the hype. It’s difficult to criticise an artist who quite clearly has very good intentions [the politically charged album sets racially motivated police brutality in Chicago Pits firmly in its sights) but despite the title there isn’t really a lot else going on.
