The new track from Model 86 starts off unassumingly enough; a gentle vocal sample melts away into synth melodies and “footworky” rhythms, but the simplicity ends there. ‘Holdin” then begins to mutate, sliding endlessly from genre to genre. The Manchester-born, London-based producer’s debut EP ‘Self Help Dance‘ was undoubtedly a highlight of last year, so we’re delighted that a new one is on its way, and sounds like it’ll be every bit as brilliantly weird. ‘When You Realise People Are Not One Dimensional Characters In A Movie Of Your Life’ is due out July 8, stream new track ‘Holdin” below via SoundCloud.
