THEMpeople produced much of Mick Jenkins’ mixtapes ‘The Water[s]‘ and ‘Wave[s]‘. He’s no stranger to collaboration with Kaytranada either [see ‘Rain‘, ‘Get Up Get Down‘ and ‘Ps & Qs‘], so the three working together on ‘The Artful Dodger’ makes perfect sense. The new track samples BADBADNOTGOOD [as did Jenkins’ ‘On The Map‘], and treads a great line between the classic and modern sensibilities of the THEMpeople and Kaytranada respectively.
