MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS – WHITE PRIVILEGE II

Having recently announce they’ll be releasing new album ‘This Unruly Mess I’ve Made’ on February 26, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis release  ‘White Privilege II’.  The new track sprawls across nine minutes, and is a treatise on the extent to which the global community is happy to exploit Black Culture but remain silent in the face of its oppression.  It’s easy to dismiss this kind of thing when it comes from a wealthy white man, but Macklemore’s message [that standing idly by, or merely sharing a hashtag, simply isn’t enough] is absolutely on the button.  Stream below via Spotify.
