Novelist calls new track ‘Street Politican’ “anti-establishment music”. This, coupled with the track’s artwork and the fact that it samples David Cameron’s House of Commons address following the 2011 London riots, doesn’t exactly add up to a subtle account of inner-city political unrest. Grime, however, isn’t about proceeding with caution: Novelist openly vents over an aggressive beat from Fool’s Gold/Ninja Tune beatmaker Nick Hook. Despite being unveiled today his track has a ‘release date’ of June 6. Either someone has got their dates muddled [today is 06/01 not 01/06 – in the UK at least], or we might tentatively speculate that this is when we might expect Novelist debut LP.
