Pell’s new album ‘LIMBO’ arrived in its entirety this week. It’s an assured follow up to his debut ‘Floating While Dreaming‘ which seems to better harness the New Orleans MC’s off-the-wall vibrancy. Tracks like ‘Queso‘ really do showcase the New Orleans MC at his finest, but occasionally production from Dave Sitek make ‘LIMBO’ feel more like a TV On The Radio side project [single ‘Cafe Du Monde‘ in particular. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing – it’s just a bit like ordering scrambled eggs and getting poached ones – not quite what you signed up for, but you’re happy nonetheless.
