We’re familiar with Saba as an MC, contributing great bars to Mick Jenkins’ recent ‘Wave[s]‘, but not so much as a producer until now. The Chicago native drops his ‘SpareChange!’ EP, a surprisingly solid instrumental project that demonstrates some serious versatility. A strong Trap influence presides, but the way that the mellow ‘Catpiss’ gives way to the jarring, more hectic ‘Bad Nature’ sets a precedent for frequently-shifting EP. Stream below via SoundCloud.
