Model 86 releases ‘Self Help Dance’, an EP that is so engagingly weird we simply can’t stop listening. The Manchester-born, London-based producer moves effortlessly between the frantic Glitch Hop of tracks like ‘Friend‘ to the ambient etherealism of ‘CTRL‘ on an EP that brims with ambition. The angular, other-worldliness of ‘Self Help Dance’ starts to make a little more sense when put in the context of Model 86′ fascination with mental health; its ups and downs reflecting those derived from his own dependence on anti-depressants.
