Hudson Mohawke’s upcoming album ‘Lantern’ breathes its ‘Very First Breath’ [sorry] this week, as the Glaswegian beatmaker releases the first track from the project, featuring French vocalist Irfane. Typically, HudMo tracks are jarring, horn-led affairs, but the production on ‘Very First Breath’ is super smooth in comparison. The track wouldn’t seem out of place in any Top 10 chart, and given that it’s Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record In The World Right Now’, we may see HudMo’s full length debut on Warp Records enjoy some real commercial success [as long as this creepy album trailer didn’t put everyone off].
