The very notion of a collaboration between Paul McCartney, Kanye West and Rihanna had us moist with anticipation, but we didn’t feature ‘FourFiveSeconds’ because actually, it was terrible. Really terrible. However, in amongst the utter dross that exists between those three to four minutes [and thankfully not a second longer] is that unbelievably catchy line from the hook: “Now I’m FourFiveSeconds from wildin’“, which is quite possibly the only sign that two of the greatest songwriting talents of all time were even paying attention whilst in the studio. What Norwegian producer Lido and Brooklyn Brass band BrassTracks have done is taken that joyful refrain and given it the shining instrumentation it deserves, turning the limp ‘FourFiveSeconds’ into a glistening fanfare.
