Today marks the release of Brooklyn legend Talib Kweli’s sixth solo album, ‘Gravitas’.  The album is full of classic Kweli.  Lyrically, the man hasn’t let us down yet and continues to be one of the realest, most poignant rappers out.  The album also has some great features: in particular, The Underachievers, Raekown, Black Thought and RES are great additions.  However, this is a relatively safe collection of tracks, and most of them do little to really stand out.  It’s probably never occurred to Kweli to make tracks that sound like singles, and that’s great, but ‘Demonology’ and ‘New Leaders’ are the only real personal highlights.
