Finally, Earl Sweatshirt’s ‘Doris’, is upon us.  It’s been several years since his return from Samoa, and fans of his brilliantly twisted flow have been awaiting his full studio debut, and boy does it deliver!  Earl previously stated he anticipated a loss of fans after this release, but it is unlikely that this will be the case.  The production is spot on throughout: live instrumentation and dark, trippy beats accompany Earl’s inimitable style.  The album contains a few features, of which Tyler, The Creator’s contribution to ‘Sasquatch’ is a particular highlight.  A central theme of the album is how uncomfortable Earl is with the expectations that surround his album, and yet he shrugs it all off, seemingly with ease.  All in all, this is the album that OF fans new Earl was capable of producing, and the young rapper has delivered in spades.  Stream below via Spotify.
