After nearly 9 months of push-backs, Talib Kweli’s ‘Prisoner Of Conscious’ is finally here.  Kweli had previously said he wanted to make an album with real longevity: “I feel like when people talk about real life emotions and real life feelings they resonate longer, longer than rappers who talk about gangsterism, sex and violence and longer than rappers who just talk about hip-hop, how real they are how and how underground they are. I wanted to make an album that really spoke to the lives that people are living”.  He’s certainly achieved that, this is honest, classic Kweli at his original and best.  In terms of direction, it’s not the most ground-breaking, but that was never the intention.  And besides, last year’s ‘Attack the Block Mixtape’ proved that Kweli still has creativity in spades.  Stream the album on Billboard before it’s release tomorrow by clicking the photo.
