Lil Wayne’s latest offering was released last week, following his hospitalization. An entertaining tape, it features plenty of trap beats and lots of collabs. It’s no ‘Carter III’, but it is Weezy giving rap fans what they want from him: imaginatively disgusting references to his money/genitals/guns. There are some great throwaway lines on this tape, we’re just grateful that Wayne is okay, and that this isn’t another Rebirth. ’Gunwalk’ is a personal favourite, as is ‘My Homies Still’, but listen to ‘Trigger Finger’ for a good laugh at Soulja Boy’s expense – his verse is possibly the worst ever released.
